The Intel Xeon E3-1240 v5 server/workstation processor featured four cores. It is part of the Xeon E3 family, using the Skylake-DT architecture and Socket 1151. Intel Hyper-Threading basically doubles the core count to eight threads. The Xeon E3-1240 v5 has 8 MB of L3 cache and runs at 3.5 GHz by default, but can increase to 3.9 GHz depending on the workload. Intel built the Xeon E3-1240 v5 on a 14 nm production node with 1,750 million transistors.
